Megan's Bio

Megan grew up in Newtown, Connecticut and moved to New Mexico in 2007 where she fell in love with the southwest for its big skies, warm sun and surrounding mountains. Megan’s love of traveling, the outdoors and all things wildlife began at a young age. After graduating college she spent over three years abroad in South Africa, Australia and southern Europe involved in various wildlife and environmental conservation programs. Most recently, Megan spent two months in India and Nepal working in a children's orphanage and slum school during the summer of 2017. Megan completed her Masters in Science Education from the University of New Mexico and has taught middle and high school science in Albuquerque until she and her husband and son moved to Durango in the spring of 2019. Since then, she and her family have welcomed a second kiddo into the world. Megan and her family love getting out on the trails with their kids in packs and dogs in tow. As a teacher and tutor, Megan strives to help students reach their full potential. She is passionate about helping students overcome obstacles that stand in their way and believes everyone has many hidden talents and strengths that just need room to come to the surface.
