Course Design

Our courses have traditional unit structures to help students work through content in a guided format. Students, however, have the freedom to spend more or less time on various concepts depending on their understanding or need. Further, students  may revisit content at any time.

Most courses release a unit or a section of a unit at a time. While the courses are not entirely self-paced, students have the freedom to move through open material at their own pace.

Course materials are organized in sequence. Students can “click-through” material or go directly to a topic of need.

Teachers provide content in a variety of formats including text resources, videos, and interactive resources.

Online discussions are used to promote discourse and the sharing of ideas. Most discussion assignments require a single unique post and two or three responses to peer work.

Online tests and quizzes can provide efficient feedback. Some quizzes and tests are automatically assessed; many require direct evaluation from the teachers, since rational and depth of knowledge are assessed.
